2009 AMA 450 Motocross Rd 4 High Point

I mentioned in an earlier post that it had been an interesting start to the 2009 450 AMA Nationals with Ryan Villopoto out for the rest of the season with injury. Well, guess what?

Rockstar Makita Suzuki has reported that AMA Motocross Championship points leading rider Mike Alessi  suffered a broken kneecap while practicing in Pennsylvania yesterday. Mike Alessi underwent successful left knee surgery this morning.

This opens things right up for Chad Reed to walk away with the championship handed to him on a silver platter.

Theres a zillion motorcycle hill climbing videos out there. This is one of the better ones, the Great American Championship Motorcycle Hill Climb in Billing, Montana.

It's been running every August since the 1940's making it the longest running hill climb to this day.

The North West 200 is a motorcycle race meeting held each May in Northern Ireland, using public roads. The circuit between the towns Portrush, Portstewart and Coleraine (the Triangle) is considered among the fastest in the world, with speeds topping 200mph.

The NW200 is similar to the Isle of Man TT.

The Dodge Tomahawk is a concept vehicle which was produced by Dodge.

At the 2003 North American International Auto Show in Detroit, Michigan, Dodge unveiled a vehicle with an unusual design, featuring the 500 hp (373 kW) 8.3 L V10 enginefrom the Dodge Viper. The vehicle has two front wheels and two rear wheels, making it a kind of motorized quadricycle rather than a typical motorcycle.

• According to the official specs 0-60 mph times have been estimated at 2.5 seconds, with an estimated top speed of 350 mph (560 km/h). But there are also reports that the top speed is 676 km/h (about 420 mph). It is very unlikely that anyone will ever test the vehicle, due to safety concerns and the price of the Tomahawk itself. Dodge has expressed interest in one day taking it to the Bonneville salt flats, but as of yet has not.
